Delete your account

You are always in control of your information. Here is how to delete your Petal Home account and personal data, and what happens when you do.

How to delete your account in the app

Open the Petal Home app on your phone.
Go to Account, then Danger zone.
Choose Delete my account.
Confirm when asked. This cannot be undone.

Prefer us to do it for you?

If you would rather we delete your account, or you can no longer sign in, just ask us and we will take care of it. Email us at hello@petalhome.app, or reach us through our Support page. We may need to check a few details to confirm the account is yours before we delete it.

What gets deleted

We remove your profile, meaning your name, email address and date of birth, along with everything private to you: your own lists, reminders, countdowns and outgoings, the things nobody else in your household could see.

This happens in the live app straight away. A short-lived backup copy may exist for a little while before it is purged, and we may keep a small amount of information for longer where the law requires it, for example basic records relating to payments.

What stays with your household

Anything you shared with your household stays with them, so your family does not suddenly lose things they rely on. Shared lists and reminders are handed to another admin rather than deleted. Past activity may still show "[Removed member]" where you did something, since the record of what happened remains even though your account is gone.

If you would like specific shared content removed as well, please ask us and we will help.

Your subscription

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Subscriptions are managed by the store you joined through, the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Android), so to stop billing you also need to turn off your subscription in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings. It is worth doing this before you delete your account.
