Terms of Use
Last updated 20 July 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Petal Home for using our website and app. We have kept them as plain and friendly as we can. By using Petal Home, you agree to them.
About these terms
These terms apply to the Petal Home website at petalhome.app and to the Petal Home app. Petal Home is currently in preparation and private testing, so some features described on our website may change before launch. If we make important changes to these terms, we will update the date above and, where it matters, let you know.
Petal Home is operated by the company set out in our Legal & company details. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean that company, and "you" means you, the person using Petal Home.
Using Petal Home
Accounts, households and fair useWho can use Petal Home
Petal Home is a family app built for households of different ages. You need to be at least 13 to have an account. Anyone aged 13 to 17 can join a household that a parent or guardian has already set up, but cannot create a household or take out a subscription on their own. A parent or guardian sets up or approves a young person's account, agrees to these terms on their behalf, and stays in control of what each family member can see and do through Petal Home's per-person permission settings. To create a household and take out the subscription that pays for it, you must be 18 or older and able to enter into this agreement.
Your account
When you create an account, please give accurate details and keep your login safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so please do not share your password. If you think someone else has access to your account, let us know.
Your household
Petal Home lets you create a household and invite the people you live with. Anything shared in the household can be seen and edited by its members, so please only invite people you trust. If you set up the household, please make sure the people you invite are happy to take part. You can keep private items visible only to you.
Using Petal Home fairly
Please use Petal Home lawfully and kindly. In particular, please do not:
- use Petal Home to store or share anything unlawful, harmful or that infringes someone else's rights;
- try to break, disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to Petal Home or its systems;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows;
- use Petal Home in a way that harms other people or their experience of it.
If you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, we may need to limit or close your account.
Your content
What you add stays yoursThe lists, plans, notes and other things you add to Petal Home belong to you. To run the service, you give us permission to host, store, back up, copy, transmit and display that content, and to format it where needed to show it to you, so we can keep it available, sync it across your devices, and share it with the household members you choose. We do this only to provide Petal Home to you. We do not claim ownership of your content, and we do not use it to advertise to you.
You are responsible for the content you add and for having the right to add it. We take care to store and back up your content, but no service can guarantee against every loss, so please keep your own copy of anything truly important to you.
Content you import
Petal Home lets you bring in content from other places, for example saving something from a website, a file, another app or a service, including any import options we add in future. When you do this, Petal Home is a general tool acting only on your instruction: it copies in what you have asked for, and does not select, check, review or approve what you import. You are responsible for the content you choose to import and for making sure you are allowed to save and use it. By importing something, you confirm that you have the right to keep a copy of it for your own or your household's personal use, that saving it does not break the law or infringe anyone else's rights, and you agree not to import content you are not permitted to save. If you are not sure whether you are allowed to save a copy of something, please do not import it.
Petal Home does not choose this content for you and does not make it public. Depending on what it is, imported content may be visible only to you or shared with the people in your household, but it is never published beyond your household or made available to anyone outside it. Petal Home is a private space for you and your household, not a library or directory that we curate, publish or make searchable to others. Petal Home is not connected to, or endorsed by, any website or service you import from.
Content from other places
Some of what you bring into Petal Home comes from websites and services we do not run. We do not check that content, and we cannot promise it is accurate, complete, lawful, or free of anyone else's rights. Anything you import is used at your own risk, and staying within the law and respecting other people's rights when you import is down to you. Where imported content includes a link back to its source, that source is run by someone else under their own terms, and we are not responsible for it.
Reporting content that infringes your rights
We respect other people's work, and we ask everyone using Petal Home to do the same. If you own the rights to something and believe it has been saved or imported into Petal Home without permission, please tell us and we will act.
To report it, email legal@petalhome.app (or use our Support page) with a way to identify the content and where it is in Petal Home, a clear description of the rights you hold, your contact details, and a short statement that you believe the use is not authorised by you, the rights-holder, or the law.
When we receive a report with what we need, we will review it and, where it is valid, remove or disable the content. Because every imported item records the website it came from, we can also find and remove everything saved from a particular source. We may let the person who saved the content know it has been removed and why. If someone repeatedly saves content they are not allowed to, we may limit or close their account.
We may also remove or restrict access to content, at our reasonable discretion, where we believe it infringes someone's rights, breaks these terms, or the law requires it. Where we can, we will let the affected person know. We can act on content held within Petal Home's own systems; we cannot control what someone has already saved or copied onto their own device.
Subscriptions & billing
One price per householdPetal Home comes with a 14-day free trial. After the trial it continues as an auto-renewing subscription, billed per household rather than per person, unless you cancel before the trial ends. It costs £4.99 a month, or £39.99 a year if you would rather pay yearly, and that covers everyone in your household.
The key things to know about your subscription:
- Petal Home starts with a 14-day free trial.
- After the trial, it is £4.99 a month or £39.99 a year, whichever you choose, for your whole household.
- If you do not cancel before the free trial ends, it automatically becomes a paid subscription and your App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google) account is charged.
- After that, the subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Your App Store or Google Play account is charged for each renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings.
- If you cancel during the free trial, you will not be charged, and you can keep using Petal Home until your free trial period ends.
Refunds
Because subscriptions are bought through the App Store or Google Play, refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own terms, not directly by us. You can request a refund through whichever store you subscribed with. Nothing here removes any legal right to a refund you may have.
Cancelling
You can turn off auto-renew at any time, and you will keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Cancelling your subscription is separate from deleting your account. See Delete your account if you want to remove your account and data as well.
Price changes
If we ever change the subscription price, we will tell you in advance, and any change will follow Apple's and Google's rules, which in some cases ask for your agreement before a renewal at the new price.
App store terms
Where Petal Home is downloaded fromIf you download Petal Home from the Apple App Store, the following also applies:
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app. If you need help, please contact us.
- If the app does not work as promised, you may tell Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- Apple is not responsible for handling any claims relating to the app, such as product liability, legal or regulatory claims, or third-party intellectual property claims, except as set out in these terms or required by law.
- You confirm you are not in a country subject to a relevant trade embargo, and you are not on a relevant prohibited-parties list.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and may enforce them against you.
If you download Petal Home from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply. Google is not responsible for the app, its content, or for support, and any purchase is handled by Google Play under their terms. Where those terms and these ones differ for a Google Play download, the Google Play terms take precedence for that purchase.
Legal bits
The necessary fine printAvailability and changes
We work hard to keep Petal Home running well, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of faults. We may update, change or pause features, and from time to time we may need to carry out maintenance.
Our responsibility to you
We provide Petal Home with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or that were not caused by us. Petal Home is intended for personal, household use, not business use.
Ending these terms
You can stop using Petal Home at any time and close your account. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously break these terms, or if we have to for legal or safety reasons.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts there will have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also have the right to bring a claim in your local courts. These terms do not take away any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be removed by agreement.
