Talking to the vet

• Ask if a home visit is possible

The day

• Agree the arrangements with the vet
• Decide who will be there
• Bring their favourite blanket

Aftercare

• Choose burial or cremation
• Check local rules on burial
• Choose any memorial or keepsake

Telling the family

• Tell the children in a way that suits their age
• Tell anyone who cared for them

Afterwards

• Tell the pet insurer
• Tell the microchip company
• Donate unused food and supplies if you want to
