Add a calendar from a link (school, club or team)
Some schools, clubs and teams publish a calendar link, sometimes called iCal, ICS or webcal. Paste it into Petal Home to see those dates on your Plan.
Before you start
- Adding a calendar from a link is part of Premium.
- You need to be able to edit the Plan. If you can only view it, these options don't show.
Step by step
Find the link on the school's, club's or team's website. Look for "Subscribe", "iCal", "ICS" or "Add to calendar", and copy it.
Open the Plan tab and tap the round ⋯ button at the top right (More options). This opens Calendar options. Tap Import a calendar. Scroll down to From a link.
Paste the link and tap Import from link.
Check the name under Call it, choose Private or Household under Who can see this?, then tap Import.
A message tells you how many events were added.
Examples
- In the UK: school term dates and INSET days, sports fixtures.
- In the US: your school district calendar and team schedules.
Good to know
- It checks for updates once a day when the person who added it opens Petal Home. If they stop using the app, it stops updating.
- If the calendar uses repeating events, Petal Home adds the first date only.
- You can add reminders and make small changes, but if the source calendar changes an event, its version replaces your changes at the next refresh.
- If an event is removed from the source calendar, it is removed from Petal Home when the person who added it taps the round refresh arrow (Refresh) beside it, under Brought in once on the Import calendar screen.
- To remove it, the person who added it opens Import calendar, taps the round ⋯ button (More) beside it, then Remove.
