Invite family to your household

Share your household's invite code or link. When someone joins, an admin accepts them.

Step by step

1. On Home, tap the round person-with-a-plus button (Add family), the first of the round buttons at the top right. (Or Settings, then Members.)

2. In the Invite people card you'll see your code, for example ABCD-2345. Tap Share to send a join link by message, WhatsApp or email, or Copy code to paste it or read it out.

3. They tap the link. If they have Petal Home, it opens. If not, the web page shows the code, ready to copy once they have the app.

4. They sign up or log in, then join with the code. Until they're accepted they see You're in, almost, and can already add their own private lists and reminders.

5. An admin accepts them. Admins get a notification, Someone wants to join, and an Asking to join card with Accept, Decline or Not now. Requests also wait in Settings, Members, Pending requests.

6. When accepting, the admin chooses whether the person is an adult or a child, and for a child, what they can see.

Already in a household?

To join another one, go to Settings, then Your households, then Join another household.

Good to know

• Every request to join a household needs an admin to accept it.
• A household can have up to 12 people, and you can belong to up to 5 households.
• Joining someone else's household is free. Creating a second household of your own is part of Premium.
• An admin can tap Generate a new code. Old invite links then stop working.
• After 10 tries in 10 minutes, Petal Home asks you to wait 10 minutes before trying again.

If it's not working

• If the link opens a web page instead of the app, tap Already have the app? Open it on that page, or copy the code and type it in the app (Set up your family, or Settings, Your households, Join another household).
