Something isn't showing on someone else's phone

Most changes appear on everyone's phones by themselves. If something hasn't, try these checks in order.

1Step 1 of 6

Is it private?

Things added on the Private tab, or with Who can see this? set to Private, are only visible to you. Open it and choose Household if you want to share it. A list or countdown may also be shared with just certain people. Its header says Shared with N people.

Only the person who added something, or an admin, can change who sees it.

2Step 2 of 6

Are you both in the same household?

If you belong to more than one household, check the pill with the household's name on Home. You may be looking at different households.

3Step 3 of 6

Pull down to refresh

Pull down on Home, Lists, Groceries, Meals, Plan or Outgoings to refresh. Opening Petal Home again also refreshes everything.

4Step 4 of 6

Is a phone offline?

If you see You're offline, changes are saved on that phone and sent when it's back online. Deletes wait until it's back online.

5Step 5 of 6

Did something not save?

If you see a message that some changes couldn't save, tap it, then Try again.

6Step 6 of 6

Have they been accepted yet?

Someone waiting to be accepted into the household can't see shared things until an admin accepts them. They see "Waiting to be accepted into" the household's name, and shared areas show a padlock.

Good to know

  • For a child, an admin may have turned that area off. It stays on their screen, locked, and says "Turned off for you". Tapping it explains.
  • On Plan, a filter may be hiding calendars or people. If you see N calendars hidden, tap Show all.
  • Petal Home works offline, and catches up the next time you're online.
